Oil-Free Compressors

When you need oil-free air, look no further than Ingersoll Rand’s line-up from Airdyne.

Our extensive experience with oil-free systems can help you select the best technology for your application.

Oil-free rotary compressors operate in much the same way as a contact-cooled machine. There are two elements rotating inside a common airend housing. There is no oil inside the compression chamber, thus the air is delivered oil-free. The airend bearings are cooled by oil, so this is not an oil-less compressor. This machine is designed for continuous duty with a minimal amount of maintenance.

A centrifugal compressor is inherently oil-free. There’s no oil inside the compression chamber. As the air enters the compressor it is redirected at a rapid rate. This change in direction and velocity causes the air to compress. Airdyne makes centrifugal machines available in sizes ranging from 250-5,000HP. They are only available in a water-cooled configuration.
